View of the Grand Palais at the 1900 Paris World Fair. The Grand Palais was built for the 1900 Fair, and was to serve as an exhibition hall. The design of the building was supervised by Charles Girault, who also worked on the Petit Palais. The building combines a classical stone facade with art nouveau iron structures and glass panels. During the 1900 world fair, the Grand Palais hosted fine arts exhibits.
